Vocational and Education Coordinator, Headspace

The role Vocational and Education Coordinator is responsible for providing career development advice, vocational and employment assistance to young people with mental illness up to the age of 25, in tandem with the headspace clinical team, to ensure young people can achieve and maintain sustainable participation in vocational education and employment.

headspace Early Psychosis an early intervention service for young people aged 12 to 25 years, that runs alongside headspace. The service provided long term case management (up to 5 years) and supports those young people who are experiencing a first episode of psychosis or are at risk of experiencing psychosis.
Functional Recovery Team is one of the areas. It gives support on daily living, social functioning, vocational and educational goals of the person.
**Role Overview**
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to
- Active management of Case Load of participants, to assist job seekers identify their educational and employment goals
- Provide education, vocation and employment support in conjunction with a participant’s clinical team
- Conduct regular job development and job search activities with participants
- Work collaboratively to maintain effective, sustainable relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to meet strategic business objectives.
- Provide post-placement planning and in-work support to participants as required
**Essential Criteria**:
- One (1) or more years of experience in your field of expertise relevant to the role.
- Knowledge of the principles of evidence-based supported employment.
- Demonstrate recovery-focused, person-centred attitude towards people with mental health needs and disabilities
- Experience working with young people
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver person-centred plans and supports
- Ability to provide individualised job support to clients and employers
- Ability to network effectively with key stakeholders, community organisations, clinical staff and employers
- Ability to negotiate with and influence a variety of stakeholders to achieve a mutually beneficial outcome
- NSW Drivers Licence
