**APAC Design Lead - Interior Design**
Populous are currently on the lookout for a world-class Interior Design Lead to take us into the future as we continue to enhance the design related aspects of our national and international projects. You will be working hand-in-hand with the Head of Interior Design, interior and architectural teams around the region to assist with both design inspiration and design outcomes on all projects in the office.
Our future APAC Design Lead - Interior Design will:
- Work with the Head of Interior Design, the wider interior design team and architectural teams within APAC to enhance our overall interior design culture, processes, approaches and standards.
- Provide direct advice, input and guidance to project teams across a range of projects.
- Be a key client facing team member who presents interior design concepts and approaches to our clients.
- Naturally coach, mentor and develop our next generation of interior designers.
This role will initially be focused on the Australian and New Zealand markets, before extending out into the rest of APAC and will ideally be located in our Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne studio. Having a direct reporting line through to the Head of Interior Design, APAC and very close lines of interaction with our APAC Directors, ensures this role is positioned at a senior level within the company.
Your experience should include:
- 15+ years in an interior design field.
- Extensive experience in the hospitality design field.
- Proven track record of highly recognised interior design outcomes.
- Experience organising and managing teams of designers.
- Clear and considered communication skills with an obvious strength in presenting interior design concepts and their delivery.
- Extensive understanding of materials, finishes and colour palettes used in the industry along with ongoing developments in these fields.
- Good understanding how interior design documentation packages and details are put together for a range of project scales.
You will be
- Helping develop the interior design structure for Populous APAC, this may include aspects such as the design review process, design inspiration and education and mentoring for the team.
- Taking a proactive and self managed approach to developing the design skills amongst the interior staff to ensure project design quality is up held and desired project outcomes are met.
- Providing design inspiration and guidance of current trends in the sectors Populous works in.
- You should be available for interstate travel and sometimes international to meet and develop teams around the region.
