**About the role**

Ward 9.2 is a 32-bed Medical Unit. The Ward Clerk provides clerical assistance to the Nurse Manager or relevant clinical staff to enable the smooth operation of the ward. Performing patient related clerical duties, maintaining medical records and communicating effectively and courteously at all times with patients, relatives and hospital staff are all vital aspects of this role.

**About you**

To be successful in this role you will possess:

- Computer competent; with excellent working knowledge of Patient Management Systems,
- Attention to detail
- Advanced telephone skills and clerical skills
- Ability to provide quality customer service in a friendly and professional manner
- Demonstrated high level of written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated organisation and time management skills
- To have an interest in working in a patient centred environment
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrated ability to work within deadlines
- Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the _Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice)_. Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment._
