Quality Control Inspector

Rail Cantech is looking for a Construction Manager for its Project Management Team that is building the Ottawa LRT Confederation Line Extension in Ottawa.

The project is located in Ottawa, and is split over two extensions of the existing Confederation Line with the East Connector adding 12.5km of double track from the existing Blair station into the suburbs of Orleans, and the West Connector adding 14.5km of double track.

Do you like challenges? This is what your day would look like:
Reporting to the Quality Control Manager, the Quality Control Inspector is responsible of developing and implementing quality control procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve production processes of a fast-paced operating construction site. More specifically, you will have to:

- Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure compliance with railroad industry standards and regulatory requirements;
- Develop a complete understanding of contract plans, specifications, applicable codes, and jurisdictional requirements;
- Develop a thorough knowledge of the project scope, schedule, inspection, testing, and quality documentation, organize and maintain inspection and testing documentation;
- Provide guidance to construction supervision regarding the project specific quality process and to ensure the requirements of the ITP are met;
- Report and document Non-Conformance when they occur. Assist in ensuring rework is tracked. Propose corrective and preventive actions;
- Be involved in and provide inspection and testing input to with project team;
- Coordinate with third party testing agencies and ensure that status logs are maintained;
- Do all other related tasks.

Do you want to become a member of our big family? You must:

- Thoroughly understanding of all aspects of track construction and maintenance, including the ability to read and understand construction drawing and technical specifications.
- 3-5 years experience in quality control role;
- Previous experience in Canada or North America and in LRT projects, an asset;
- Valid drivers license (G for Ontario or 5 for Quebec) and good driving record.
- Provide leadership and guidance for field management staff.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Some travel away from home is required, some weekends and night work.
- Ability to speak/read/write in French language is an asset.
