We are looking for a talented and reliable person with a positive attitude to join the City of Mandurah to complete a traineeship in Conservation and Land Management.
As a trainee you will complete a nationally recognised qualification (Certificate III in Conservation and Ecosystem Management) while gaining practical knowledge and skills in general bushland maintenance tasks through on the job experience.
- School leavers: OLNA or NAPLAN 9 Band 8
- Non-school leavers: C grades in Year 12 English and Maths or Certificate II in Conservation and Land Management
- Genuine demonstrated interest in conservation and land management
- Current unrestricted C-B (Manual) class national driver’s licence
- Physically fit and capable of undertaking manual tasks in all weather conditions
- High level of attention to detail
- Self-motivated and keen to learn
- Ability to problem solve
- Be a confident communicator
- Ability to follow instructions and take direction
- A strong team player
- Basic knowledge of hand tools
- Reliable and hardworking
- Computer skills with the ability to operate MS Office software packages, tablets and mobile devices
**The finer details**
This fulltime position attracts a salary range of $36,082 to $62,324 gross per annum dependent on age. The traineeship is 2 years in duration and is located at the Council’s Southern Operations Centre in Dawesville. Successful applicants will need to obtain their white card prior to commencing and complete a full medical including a drug and alcohol test.
