**The Role**:
This Government Department is seeking an experienced Policy Analyst to join the team on a contract role to support the development of briefs for regulatory policy, procedures and amendments.
**Responsibilities**:
- Provide high level, strategic advice and analysis
- Deliver high quality policy analysis and governance related projects
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Conduct research, seek expert advice and liaise with relevant Division staff, external agencies and industry stakeholders on governance issues
- Prepare complex briefings for the Minister and senior staff of the Department and prepare reports, discussion papers, briefs, ministerial instruments and letters
**Required Experience**:
- A tertiary qualification in public policy, law, governance or environment related fields is desirable
- A working knowledge of the Victorian public sector governance framework is desirable.
- Demonstrated success in writing high-quality documents on policy or governance concepts.
- Experience in MS Office, including MS Word, MS PowerPoint and MS Excel is essential.
