**The client**
Our client is a federal government agency responsible for implementing Australia's largest social reform since Medicare. They have an exciting opportunity available for an Assistant Director, Events Management to join the Community Engagement and Communications Branch.
- 12 month initial contract with likely extensions
- Role can be based out of Melbourne or Geelong, with 3 days in the office and 2 from home
- Daily rate of $585 + super on offer
**The role**
In this role, you will manage a small team, while planning and running a variety of event end-to-end. Duties will include:
- Co-ordinating small and large scale Events from the planning stage to running the event according to stakeholder requirements, target audience and objectives
- Assessing the event process to provide post-event evaluation for stakeholders to ensure the event has met the purpose and outcomes and offer recommendations for improvement where required
- Keeping awareness of budgetary impacts and other financial impacts in relation to running events
- Setting work priorities for staff, oversee and review project plans, briefing documents, reports and other written communications for leadership and key stakeholder groups
- Developing tailored change management techniques and strategies and broader project management approaches, to meet deadlines and produce high quality outcomes that address business needs
- Identifying and exploring new ideas, opportunities and risks through analysis and interpretation of organisational data, to inform, support and/or determine the course of action for business outcomes
- Developing and maintaining productive relationships with stakeholders, engage and facilitate collaboration in the development and delivery of project work
- Recognising and understanding the key development risks and issues impacting the business environment when developing and implementing practical solutions to emerging opportunities and risks
**About you**
- Extensive experience in event management, with demonstrated achievements in coordinating large events end-to-end
- Previous team leadership experience and strong people management skills
- Exceptional communication skills and stakeholder engagement capabilities
- Previous experience in government/health/disability services highly regarded
- Positive contemporary attitudes to people with disability
