**Position**:Proposal Manager - Lab**

**Reports to**: Head of Finance

**Why you’re here
The objective of your role is to:

- Win new business for Greenlight Clinical’s (GLC) Laboratory and Clinical Research Organisation.
- Collaborate with the Business Development and Proposals teams, Laboratory Management and Scientists, Finance, and the broader team to deliver winning Budgets and Proposals that give the customer confidence to select GLC as their Clinical Research partner.
- Assess GLC’s processes for creating Budgets & Proposals, and all related Business Acquisition Processes, and develop and implement solutions for improving GLC’s speed, accuracy and efficiency in responding to Requests for Proposal (RfPs); with the aim of increasing GLC’s rate of business acquisition.
- Help us to build a Central Laboratory and CRO that makes a positive contribution to the development of new therapies to improve patients’ lives.

**What you’ll deliver**
- Timely and effective responses to our customers’ Requests for Proposal
- An effective standard process for the managing Requests for Proposal and Ball-park budgets.
- A solution orientated, problem-solving approach to develop proposals for novel and unique studies, and to the development of commercial processes for new services.
- Any addition special projects as required - for example developing the process of hand-over of budgets to the functional teams for resource planning & execution.
- Support to the CRO Proposals Manager to provide extra bandwidth and leave cover.
- Support to the Business Development team in their negotiation of budgets and contracts relating to new proposals and ongoing projects.

**How we’ll measure it**
- Timely and effective responses to our customers’ Requests for Proposal
- Improved win rate for the lab and CRO.
- Specific improvements in the proposals process for the lab and CRO.
- Quality of interaction and support provided to Business Development Managers, cross-functional team heads, and finance.

**What you’re responsible for**
- Speeding up the proposals process and improving GLC’s win rate.
- Building accurate budgets for the lab and CRO.
- Building effective, collaborative relationships with the GLC team.

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Sciences, Life Sciences, or similar related field or a combination of education, training, and experience.

**Work experience**
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in related life sciences industries with significant experience in proposal and budget analytics, developing the budget and proposal process, and contracts or equivalent combination of relevant training and industry experience.
- Proven successful track record of commercial industry or clinical research site experience.

**Technical knowledge & skills or other requirements**
- Analytical thinking and high attention to details.
- Good understanding of costing and financial models.
- Good understanding of clinical research industry, including clinical research organisation (CRO) and their needs the needs.
- Strong Excel skills and the ability to develop high standard budget models.
- IT literate; Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Proficient verbal and written English communication.
