**About the role**:
The GIS Specialist role plays a key role in enabling Network Services to deliver quality GIS services as part of delivering a total services package to internal or external customers in a timely cost-effective manner.

This role will be responsible for developing GIS procedures, identifying, analysing, and defining changes to GIS and related systems to enable Network Services to support the business by providing professional spatial services and specialist advice.

**What you’ll deliver**:

- Develop and implement a GIS E2E Project Strategic Plan to ensure present and future requirements.
- Support and implement any new or changed business policies, procedures or standards related to GIS systems within Network Services
- Provide effective leadership by reviewing performance, identifying training goals and facilitating a customer focused environment to improve overall delivery service levels.
- Proactively promote and identify new and emerging technology trends around GIS and related systems and technologies such as BIM, AUD, LiDAR etc.
- Responsible to ensure that all processes are up to date that are impacted by changes in new technologies.
- Conduct quality audits as scheduled, to determine process effectiveness and report status to the business.

**To succeed in the role, you’ll have**:

- Tertiary qualification in Geospatial Systems or equivalent.
- Extensive work experience in geospatial systems and with strategy development of such systems.
- Stakeholder management and negotiation skills with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Experience in Utilities industry (desirable).
- Previous experience in leading a specialist group (desirable).
