If you have a natural eye for detail and are good with your hands, becoming a **Fitter and Turner Apprentice** could be for you

This **four-year apprenticeship** will give you the opportunity to become a qualified Fitter and Turner and earn a **MEM30219 Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical (Fitting and Turning)**, based in **Carole Park**, QLD.

**ABOUT THE HOST**

**Hydraulic Specialists Australia** operates out of branches in Victoria and Queensland and offers sales, service, design and market support for three German manufacturers - Linde, Bucher Hydraulics and Hydrotechnik.

Hydraulic Systems Australia specialise in measuring instruments, mobile and industrial hydraulics, elevator hydraulics, hydraulic drives for high voltage switch gear and aim to provide innovative solutions in hydraulic drive and control engineering. The work is often centred on customer requirements and thus often results in tailor-made components and systems.

**ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY**

Working to a set of specifications, you will be doing predominantly maintenance work, but the role will also include receiving imported parts, manufacturing, assembling hydraulic parts and repair work. You will have the opportunity to work alongside highly skilled tradespeople and assist professionals giving you first-hand experience.

Supervised and guided by the Warehouse Manager, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

- Measuring and marking out materials for manufacture
- Keeping records of safety and maintenance procedures
- Cutting, grinding, and shaping metal and other materials
- Welding
- Interpreting diagrams, drawings, specifications, and plans to determine suitable material and sequence of operations
- Diagnosing and repairing faults with tools and machinery, and performing regular maintenance
- Setting up and operating tools and machinery
- Valve assembly
- Manufacture hoses
- Stripping down pumps and motors
- Assess and assemble machinery once parts arrive
- General cleaning
- Following safety protocols
