Manager, ENG and Camera Operations Supervisor

**The Department**
SBS Technology can be thought of as the 'engine room' of SBS. Our primary role is to enable and support the production, distribution, and transmission of content across television, radio, and online platforms. Our teams achieve this by working collaboratively to design innovative solutions and deliver end-to-end services for our business stakeholders.
**The Role**
Reporting to the Head of Technology Operations, the Manager, ENG and Camera Operations is responsible for delivery of the day-to-day operation, development and deployment of the technical and teams required to support the creation of high-quality content to SBS internal clients.
This includes the core areas of ENG, editing, lighting and live crosses via TVU deployment.
Manager, ENG and Camera Operations will promote a service-driven culture amongst teams and high levels of collaboration and integration with technology partners (e.g. Sony, TVU & Canon) to drive production outcomes to ensure the best outcomes for SBS.
Key responsibilities include:
**Team Leadership**
- Motivate and lead the camera teams to deliver first class content to clients
- Provide leadership and coaching to direct reports and others within the operational team members to enable growth in their leadership and management skills
- Supervise and approve rosters in order to provide best fit resources to efficiently deliver on requirements, ensuring budgets are met
Customer Service
- Provide high-quality service to internal and external clients in line with organisational requirements
- Work closely with NACA, Sport and NITV to deliver great service, seeking regular feedback on the service levels provided to the business
- Devise suggestions and recommendations on the best solutions for customer needs that utilize our resources to the greatest capacity and ensures we adapt to the continually evolving media consumption landscape
- Provide reports and feedback where necessary or as requested
**About you**
We’re looking for someone who brings:
- A calm confident approach to problem solving in a high-pressure live production environment.
- Strong mentoring skills to lead camera and editing teams
- Sound organisational and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to work to tight deadlines in a rapidly changing technology and editorial environment
- Highly experienced in mentoring and training teams
Experience in managing a team including the ability to:
- Build a culture of high-level performance, service, and accountability.
- Select, develop, and mentor employees, and monitor and review their performance.
- Manage rostering, leave entitlements, timesheets.
- 10+ years in ENG camera operations
- 5+ years in managing teams
- Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Understanding and appreciation of business drivers
