Tester

Leading Government client in **Canberra** is looking for a **Tester ( Integration Tester)** on a **6 months contract** + possible extension. **APPLY NOW**

- Warfighting Applications Product Line (WAPL), Technical Transformation Lead- Position Description:
- This role will work within the Warfighting Applications Product Line area of the Warfighting Networks and Applications Support Organisation (WSO), ICT Delivery Division, Chief Information Officer Group, Department of Defence.
- The Integration Tester is responsible for integration testing within the Warfighting Applications Product Line (WAPL). The Integration Tester will conduct testing and evaluation activities, including test creation, implementation and reporting activities and interaction with the technical teams within the WAPL and wider WSO. This role provides a significant contribution to enhancing overall capacity to meet the information technology needs of the Warfighter. The Integration Tester will be required to perform and/or have responsibility for duties including, but not limited to:
- Analyse detailed interoperability requirements, Functional Performance Specifications (FPS) and Fundamental Inputs to Capability (FIC), to develop testing strategies that reduce the risk of system outages and identify system defects;
- Prepare and submit detailed test and integration reports to describe testing outcomes, and assist developers and peers to address the removal of defects;
- Provide Support and Conduct of Validation and Verification (V&V) activities as it relates to prototypes and designs; and,
- Report to the Technical Lead \ Product Line Lead in relation to status of activities, identified risks and task completion at a high enough level to allow upward communication through the organisation chain of command;
- Supporting the Integrated Project Team (IPT) and Capability Boards through the provision of Subject Matter Expert (SME) advice on T&E matters.

T&E activities, to inform capability and procurement decisions.- Supporting the planning, conducting, reporting and coordinating of Strategic Partner-led Acceptance T&E activities; and Capability Manager-led Operational T&E activities across all Capability Elements.
- Supporting the Warfighting Applications Product Line Manager through the provision of timely advice pertaining to funding, schedule and risk associated with T&E activities.
- Contributing to the development of project-level planning tools such as the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).
- Supporting commercial procurement activities including the collaborative development of Statement of Work(s) (SOW) with Strategic Partners/industry.
- Required Skills and Experience:
- 5-10 years as part of a Test and Evaluation team at a very technical and hands on level;
- Experience with Test and Evaluation tools, frameworks and implementation;
- Experience in automating, supporting and testing multi-vendor geographically dispersed solutions;
- 5-10 years testing for environments with varying levels of required security, caveats and controls;
- 5-10 years testing and deploying infrastructure with consideration of Networking and connectivity requirements and risks;
- Previous experience in an integration tester role;
- Ability to code/script for automation/orchestration outcomes, including: shell scripts, PowerShell, RESTful API, json, etc;
- Experience with containerisation platforms including, Docker, Kubernetes;
- Experience with code repository automation, approval and delivery;
- Expert Level knowledge of DevSecOps;
- Demonstrated experience with secure development, coding, testing and engineering practices in-line with DevSecOps requirements; and,
- Strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills with demonstrable experience of presentation and engagement with stakeholders, projects and business areas;
- Desirable- 5-10 years of experience with JSON, Ansible, PowerShell, Jenkins, GitLab, Python or similar technologies;
- Experience supporting, testing and validating hyper-converged infrastructure, converged infrastructure and Microsoft infrastructure services;
- Excellent knowledge of networking technologies, particularly with network layers and segmentation;
- Experience with CIOG ICT TAF processes;
- Experience with Defence systems;
- Experience working in highly secure kinetic environments;
- Experience with the implementation, assessment and testing of capabilities defined within a Software Defined Datacentre model;
- Have experience and understanding of International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR);
- Experience with Automated Attack Framework for Test and Evaluation activities;
