Head of Risk Enablement and Payment Industry

Whilst the major banks leverage this capability for their consumer and business clients, our B2B model focuses on enabling other banks, fintech’s and corporates to deliver innovative and competitive payment and digital solutions to their clients and customers.

**We are looking for a Head of Risk Enablement and Payment Industry Compliance to join our Product Team.**
The Head of Payment Industry Compliance & Risk Enablement serves as a focal point for expert leadership in industry scheme compliance and first line risk management through the delivery of strategic guidance to business leaders and expert counsel in four key areas:
**1) Strategic relationship management and advocacy with payment industry bodies and schemes**
- Build relationships with payment industry bodies and schemes to ensure Cuscal’s participation in relevant committees and represent Cuscal at these committees where relevant.
- Manage payment industry reporting and audit to ensure on time and accurate delivery.

**2) Compliance Framework implementation**
- Responsible for defining scheme compliance processes and ways of working within the product domains to ensure understanding of scheme changes and compliance activities
- Work with Product domains and squads to prioritise work so Cuscal meets required timelines.

- Manage compliance and risk calendar to ensure all product domains are aware of upcoming activities.
- Liaise with Client teams to ensure clients are aware of relevant changes and action these changes in the required timeframe.

**3) Financial management of scheme participation**
- Manage scheme funding and budgets, including scheme waivers
- Liaise with procurement to ensure ownership of relevant vendor relationships and adherence to requirements of Cuscal’s procurement policy.
- Be responsible for scheme incentives and ensure optimal use and return on co-investments

**4. Operational risk embedment and transformation**
- Drive uplift in line 1 operational risk and regulatory compliance practices, risk profile refreshes, controls setting, risk in change identification and draw in Line 2 support where required
- Work closely with Line 2 Risk & Compliance teams and IT Risk team to ensure that all mandates from regulators are met and all products and services are compliant
- Lead the Payment Industry Compliance & Risk Enablement team to drive risk culture uplift across all product domains.
- Provide insights to Product Leadership Team on risk and compliance culture within the domains and squads.
- Maintain dashboards on compliance and risk related activities (audit actions, issues, risk acceptances, scheme waivers, control testing, etc).
- Ensure Product Domains are adhering to risk appetite statement, policies and frameworks.
- Liaise with Line 2 risk and IT Risk teams to understand upcoming regulatory changes that require work to be prioritised into the product domains.

**About You**
To be successful in this position you will have the following skills and experience:

- Bachelor’s degree in a business and/or technology related discipline
- 15+ years experience in a payments industry related leadership role; experience in scheme compliance specific roles highly regarded
- Extensive experience as a leader in risk and compliance transformation at organisational and operational levels
- Proven experience working in an agile product development environment
- Extensive experience in adaptive leadership and leading through uncertainty
- Substantial experience in successful internal and external relationship management
