An exciting and unique opportunity exists for a talented and passionate individual to join the People and Culture team as Adviser, Health, Safety and Wellbeing in the People and Culture team at the Department of Premier and Cabinet.
As the Adviser, Health, Safety and Wellbeing you will provide advice, support and reporting on a broad range of health, safety and wellbeing issues, including WorkCover case management. You will assist with the implementation and management of key policies, procedures and initiatives and support the Senior Adviser with the management of the OH&S Management Systems, OHS contract management and to capture essential data and maintain compliance.
This position offers the opportunity to Act as the first point of contact for Health, Safety and Wellbeing queries, providing sound advice and support on a broad range of health, safety and wellbeing issues to, executives, managers and to utilise your excellent communication and relationship building skills.
About you
- Demonstrated experience providing succinct and clear expert advice to stakeholders on a range of employment, change management or health and safety matters.
- Strong understanding of relevant legislation, policies and procedures and contemporary developments in employee relations including the Occupational Health and Safety Act (2004) and the Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2013.
- Highly developed stakeholder management and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to develop and present material on complex matters to varied audiences and to prepare quality briefs, reports and correspondence.
- Sound conceptual and analytical skills, strong initiative and a ‘can do' approach to identify issues and develop appropriate solutions to solve problems and improve efficiencies.
