Billing Officer

**ABOUT THE ROLE**:

- Werribee Mercy Hospital is a public hospital serving the growing community of the west.
- We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Billing Officer to join our dynamic Billings & Receivables team. The Billing Officer is responsible for the timely and accurate billing of inpatient, outpatient and sundry accounts and will be required to:

- Maintain and understand the relevant government guidelines and legislations relating to billing functions and requirements
- Contribute to continuous improvement opportunities to mitigate risks and improve work processes
- Provide support, guidance and education in relation to billing functions at WMH
- Work closely with the Patient Finance Liaison Officer, Collections Officer and Revenue Manager
- Based at Werribee Mercy Hospital
- Permanent Part-time position - 72 hours / fortnight
- HS2 classification

**ABOUT YOU**:

- To be successful in the role you will:

- Have previous (hospital) Billing Officer experience or experience within a similar health industry role (essential)
- Be able to demonstrate an up to date understanding of Government Guidelines and Legislation relevant to Billing requirements
- Be self-motivated and willing to contribute to continuous improvement opportunities
- Demonstrate the ability to promote and support change; educate and influence others
- Have the ability to perform a wide range of administrative tasks with attention to detail and accuracy
- Be proficient with Microsoft Office and data entry (essential)
