In the role of Principal Advisor (Local Government Partnerships), you will be part of a team dedicated to strengthening TMR's partnership with Queensland's local governments. As the custodians of the Roads and Transport Alliance between TMR and councils, our work focusses on building and maintaining stakeholder relationships, developing robust policy solutions, and governing funding programs including the Transport Infrastructure Development Scheme and Country Roads Connect Program. We are a small and supportive team that is passionate about supporting local governments to deliver outcomes for Queensland communities. This role undertakes travel within Queensland which includes overnight stays.
**Some of your responsibilities will include**:

- Champion our partnership with Queensland local governments: Represent TMR at key meetings with local governments and other stakeholders across Queensland to shape the future of our roads and transport network.
- Lead on Policy Innovation: Develop meaningful policies and solve complex issues that are strategically important for Queensland.
- Prepare High-Impact Communications: Prepare high quality written materials, such as ministerial correspondence, briefing notes, and policy papers, on critical transport issues, ensuring our leaders have the insights they need.
- Forge Strong Partnerships: Build and maintain influential relationships with local governments, peak bodies, departmental officers and senior executives to provide guidance, resolve issues, and drive effective team operations.
- Be a Catalyst for Improvement: Identify and champion continuous improvement opportunities across policies, processes, and projects to enhance the team's impact and program outcomes.

- Able to manage time and organise work effectively, adapting to changing priorities to ensure quality results.
- Skilled at building strong relationships with stakeholders to deliver outcomes.
- Communicates clearly in both writing and speaking, adapting style to suit different audiences.
- Supports the team proactively and takes responsibility for delivering work on time.
- Willingness and ability to travel throughout Queensland on a regular basis.
- Due to this role undertaking travel, an open class C drivers' licence is required.
