About the School
Centenary Heights State High School is located in the Toowoomba District and serves principally the urban community of South-East Toowoomba. The school was opened in 1968 and occupies a site of approximately 10 hectares in a residential area adjacent to the Southtown Shopping Centre.
About the Role

**In this Head of Department role, you will**:

- Lead Design Technology incorporating ITD (Industrial Technology and Design) as well as Food and Fibre Technology (Home Economics, Hospitality and Textiles) for students in years 7-12.
- Deliver and grow Vocational Education and Training within your portfolio and have a futures-oriented view to deliver meaningful and relevant programs applicable to industry.

You will have responsibility for the following activities and key tasks:

- Lead the school department to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
- Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
- Set high standards for student and staff performance.
- Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
- Form partnerships with students, parents, other government agencies, and community groups.
- Be futures oriented and strategic.
- Understand the legislation and policies that impact on schooling especially in relation to students and staff within the school department.
