**About the role**:
Europcar has an exciting opportunity for an experienced **Payroll Officer **to join our Payroll team on a **part time (30.4 hours / 4 days per week) 12-month maximum term maternity leave contract**, based in **Tullamarine, Victoria.**
Reporting to the Remuneration and Benefits Manager, this role is responsible for the timely and accurate processing of payroll for all employees and reporting for the company.
**Some of the key responsibilities include**:
- Responsible for the payroll processing for the fortnightly payroll in a timely and accurate manner, including the administration of the time and attendance system.
- Maintain pay records, leave records, staff movements and related information.
- Analyse IR legislation, Retail Awards and determine pay differentials for shift work, overtime, terminations, back-pays and other entitlements.
- Assist in maintaining award information and ensure wages payments comply with awards and the relevant industrial instruments.
- Enter new employees to the payroll, ensuring all relevant forms have been returned and processed.
- Maintain ConnX (HRIS system) and Humanforce (time and attendance system), coach and encourage managers to improve knowledge / use of the system.
- Processing termination payments and Separation Certificates.
- Maintain integrity of payroll system and master files and accurate leave accruals to meet award and legislative requirements.
- Coordinating and processing workers’ compensation claims and reimbursements.
- Calculate bonuses and incentives in line with current programs, expenses and other miscellaneous payments through fortnightly payroll.
- Handle pay queries and provide employment confirmation and salary statements as required.
- Processing month end and year end processes as required
- Provide advice and assistance to managers and employees with payroll enquiries
**To be considered for this position you should possess**:
- Minimum three (3) years’ Payroll experience in a fast paced environment
- Experience in HRIS & Time and Attendance / rostering systems management and implementation
- Knowledge of payroll systems (Human Force, Micropay and Connx) is advantageous
- Good knowledge of AU / NZ employment legislation including experience in award interpretation
- Be systems savvy and advanced with Excel
- Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work closely and build strong relationships with managers
