At Thomson Geer we are looking for final year law students who have excelled, are client-focused and commercially minded to join our 2026 Graduate Program. We are a large, national law firm offering our lawyers exposure to high quality assignments across a range of industries. Our Partners are hands-on; providing excellent training and development opportunities to all our lawyers, including our graduates. Our areas of practice in Canberra: - Construction, Projects & Infrastructure - Government Dispute Resolution & Litigation - Commercial Dispute Resolution & Litigation - Employment - Information Technology **The role**: We are currently seeking Law Graduates to join our Canberra office on the firm's Graduate Development Program commencing in March 2026. As part of this 12-month program, graduates rotate through three different practice areas providing our graduates with an opportunity to learn a range of different skills and find their preferred area of law. Graduates are able to express preferences for placement areas. We hope that all of our graduates will have long and rewarding careers at Thomson Geer. We support our lawyers with multiple streams of in-house training and development programs. At Law Graduate level, we provide: - A tailored induction program to best support your start - New Lawyer Training series which provides practical sessions like "Preparing for Court", "Client Service Skills" and "Personal Reputation" delivered by senior lawyers with Thomson Geer. - Firm-wide in-house CPD seminars You may also be eligible to take advantage of our generous Study Assistance Program should you choose to undertake additional studies. In addition to formal training and development, you will have the opportunity to learn and stretch your skills by immersing yourself in meaningful work for clients from the beginning of your career. Our partners will work with you throughout your career providing you with feedback on your development and assisting your further development in line with your goals, and with an understanding that no two career paths are the same. **The successful applicant**: To be successful in this position you will be self-motivated, have the confidence and ability to communicate confidently with stakeholders at all levels, and possess strong prioritisation and multi-tasking skills.
