SYNOPSIS:
**2026 Treasury Graduate Development Program - Indigenous Affirmative Measure**

We are seeking collaborative and highly motivated Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people to make a direct impact in the way government develops and implements economic policies for Australia, as well as those relating to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities. Through this Indigenous Affirmative Measure process, we are committed to making graduate positions accessible to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islanders. While merit remains the basis for selection, engagement and promotion, this process is only open to people of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage.

As a Treasury graduate, you’ll have access to rewarding career opportunities in an Australian government central agency, exposure to meaningful work in several areas of the department, and the opportunity to work on policies that shape the Australian economic landscape and make a difference to all Australians.

The Treasury Graduate Development Program runs for 2 years, 3x 8-month rotations in different work areas, allowing you to gain experience across the department.

As a Treasury graduate you will contribute to work that informs key Australian economic policy in areas including:

- markets
- macroeconomics
- revenue
- fiscal
- international and foreign investment
- small business and housing
- corporate and law

Daily tasks can include:

- research
- analysis
- briefing
- coordination
- advice, and
- support on policies and initiatives related to existing and emerging government priorities.

Our program will provide you with tailored development workshops, training opportunities and mentorship. Graduates are matched with a graduate buddy who has already completed the program to help you get your best foot forward. You will join a department with a valued and inclusive cohort, where leadership is invested in your professional growth and development, allowing you to develop your skills, knowledge and confidence as an influential employee of the Australian Public Service.

Most graduates will be based in our Canberra office, however those already residing in Sydney and Melbourne may have the opportunity to secure one of the limited placements in one of the state offices, with occasional travel to Canberra.

**How to Apply**

Applications close **11:30pm (AEDT)**Monday 14 April 2025.
