**Position Information**:
Toongabbie West Public School is located in Western Sydney, with an enrolment of 284 students (56% from non-English speaking backgrounds). The school has 3 support classes for students with Hearing Impairment and 11 mainsteam classes. Toongabbie West Public School has dedicated staff with a range of early career and experienced teachers, who focus on quality teaching and providing a welcoming environment to all students and community members. The school values an inclusive culture and is well-supported by an active P and C. Our Strategic Improvement Plan focuses on student growth and attainment, developing teacher capacity, collaborative practice and student wellbeing.
**Selection Criteria**:
- In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach special education and/or experience teaching students with learning needs, and a demonstrated capacity to work as part of an executive team.
- Proven ability to lead curriculum implementation and assessment, with excellence in classroom teaching practice and quality differentiated programs to meet the learning needs of the students that reflects current research and best practice.
- A highly approachable, collaborative leader with exceptional interpersonal skills and experience in building positive and inclusive relationships with the students, staff and community to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
- Demonstrated commitment to strengthen initiatives and processes that support the wellbeing of all students so they can connect, succeed, thrive and learn.
**General Selection Criteria**:
- 1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice- 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs- 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams- 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents- 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning- 6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies**Conditions**:
