Patches is a multidisciplinary team of Paediatricians, Neuropsychologists, Occupational Therapists, Exercise Physiologists, Psychologists and Speech Pathologists, Behaviour Support Practitioners, Support Coordinators extensively supported by clinical administrative staff. The team at Patches is made up of passionate individuals, who bring experience and excellence in their clinical service.

Patches has clinic sites in Perth (Headquarters), Port Hedland, Broome, Kununurra in WA, and Darwin and Alice Springs in NT; with new service sites developing in QLD, NSW, TAS, VIC and SA.

**The Role**

Patches is seeking a highly motivated Positive Behaviour Support Practitioners (PBSP) to join our teams across WA and NT. Patches is also offering telehealth PBSP roles across Australia.

Based in our clinic site in Subiaco, you will deliver positive behaviour support to people with complex behavioural needs. Core proficiency will be considered but proficient or above is preferred. The caseload will include paediatric and adult participants (including from culturally diverse populations, and in corrective services settings) with options to travel to complete remote work.

Your excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills will be critical to your success in this role. You will have the support of an established Allied Health team and Patches National transdisciplinary therapy service.

This role is currently 0.6 FTE with the capacity to be fulltime.

**Essential Selection Criteria**:

- At least two years' relevant industry experience working with challenging behaviours
- Must meet NDIS guidelines for Behaviour Support Practitioner registration with either an Allied Health background or significant other experience. Psychology background highly preferred, with provisional psychologists encouraged to apply
- Willingness to complete the NDIS self assessment process for registration as a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Practitioner and demonstrated understanding of the NDIS Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner Capability Framework
- Willingness to adapt to change and be available to do outreach trips in person and/or telehealth as required
- Previous experience completing Functional Behaviour Assessments for individuals (paediatrics and adults) with challenging behaviours
- Previous experience developing and/or implementing Positive Behaviour Support Plans
- Understanding of and adherence to the principles of Positive Behaviour Support, including an understanding of human rights and passion for working to improve quality of life.
- Knowledge of restrictive practices and reporting of with an understanding of existing frameworks
- Understanding and experience in the use of relevant assessment tools
- Highly developed report writing and behavioural data analysis skills
- Demonstrate ability to work independently and cooperatively as part of a team, contribute professional skills and knowledge, including expertise to colleagues and the team
- A sound understanding of current disability sector, NDIS and the National Standards for Disability
- Knowledge of the laws and ethical standards governing clinical practice and therapy provision with NDIS and relevant state bodies
