The Educational Support and Rural Initiatives - Rural and Distance Education directorate is responsible for maintaining policies and programs for the provision of state-wide leadership and strategic implementation of rural and distance education initiatives, resources, and reforms. P-12 including:

**About the role**

The Learning Design and Development Advisor role is responsible for leading the design and development of digital learning resources that support student learning, teaching and professional development for NSW teachers.

The 2017 transitional arrangement for the recruitment of Non-School Based Teaching Service positions, for all Senior Education Officer 1 (SEO1) and Senior Education 2 (SEO2) positions across the Department have ceased. - Teaching qualifications and recent school based experience within the K-12 range or recent NSBTS experience
- Demonstrated commitment to participating in and managing accreditation processes
- Proven ability to liaise and negotiate with a range of stakeholders and work collaboratively within and across teams
- High level written and oral communication and interpersonal skills and experience in the preparation of documents including briefings, reports and correspondence
- Experience in leading curriculum implementation and demonstrated understanding of current trends, resources, quality teaching & assessment practice, relevant legislation and policies
- Demonstrated capacity to lead and supervise staff, monitor high standards and work effectively as part of a management team
- Capacity to harness ICTs to develop and deliver innovative programs and services
- Proven ability to meet deadlines, provide sound advice and work independently
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
