Reporting to the Materials Manager, an exciting opportunity has become available for an enthusiastic and experienced Purchasing Specialist based in our Adelaide facility. The primary purpose of the role is to coordinate the purchasing of goods, materials and services to support Drilling Services whilst managing associated costs.

**Want to know a little more about the role? Day-to-day responsibilities include**:

- Timely creation and conversion of purchase requisitions into purchase orders or internal sales orders for all operational and maintenance requirements, including functional support areas where applicable.- Ensure security of supply for critical items.- Provide cost and quantity information to the business as required.- Partner with the Region Sourcing team to complete strategic sourcing projects and large purchases.- Identify cost improvement opportunities, participate in cost saving programs, and focus on greater efficiencies, economies of scale and better-quality resources.- Create competitive environment among suppliers.- Creatively negotiate contracts and manage delivery of optimal supply solution.- Define Vendor Performance Standard, performing Vendor Evaluation and determine Vendor Improvement Actions.- Establish, renegotiate, renew and discontinue supplier contracts.- Focus on ethical purchasing practices and implement procurement best practices.- Any experience in warehouse and inventory management would be considered favourable.**A few other things we’re looking for**:

- A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in purchasing and inventory management.-
