**About the role - Full-time 12-month max term contract **(potential for permanent after this period)**
The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for optimising systems and processes by reducing transactional workload and operational overhead by identifying and implementing process improvements and leveraging technology. The position will identify opportunities to deliver savings to the organisation and centralise our procurement processes. The Procurement Specialist will lead the sourcing and procurement of all non-employee expenditure within the Baptist Care SA
- Key responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:_
- Identify areas for streamlining operations and enhancing efficiency
- Recommend and implement process improvements to optimize procurement workflows
- Conduct supplier evaluations and negotiations to secure favourable terms and competitive pricing
- Communicate and engage with stakeholders at various levels to meet procurement needs
- Develop and maintain procurement documentation, including policies and procedures
**About you**:
Having sound experience of working within procurement, you are a motivated individual who enjoys working autonomously yet thrives on building relationships with the various stakeholders you interact with. You enjoy the finer details of your work whether its problem solving, analysing data or negotiating terms for mutual wins. You will be a key resource to the business with your knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and methodologies, hitting the ground running to solidify our internal processes.
You will also have the following skills and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- Strong procurement background (5+ years' service)
- Proven experience in procurement, and sourcing, with a focus on process improvement and cost optimisation
- Proficiency in using accounting and procurement systems, as well as advanced MS Excel skills for data analysis and reporting
- High level of self-sufficiency, working with mínimal supervision

You will be required to have, or be willing to obtain:
- Full unrestricted South Australia Driver’s Licence
- DHS Child-Related Employment Screening or Working With Children check
- National Police Clearance
- Safe Environments for Children and Young People (Through Their Eyes) or willingness to obtain
- Ability to work outside of normal office hours may be required
- To be considered for employment with Baptist Care SA, you must have an up-to-date Covid 19 Vaccination status or be able to provide an appropriate medical exemption.
