**How will I help?**
As an Analyst, Data Risk Management you will support the 3 Risk Divisional Data Owners (DDOs) for Credit Risk, Market Risk and Operational Risk and the overarching Risk Division in undertaking Data Risk Management activities.
The main objective of the Risk Data Office is to support Risk DDOs in managing Critical Data Elements (CDEs) and bringing them under governance for all critical data usages, including regulatory, prudential, board and risk appetite metrics.
Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Supporting identification of CDEs and prioritised data usages.
- Supporting the implementation of Data Quality Management capability within Risk Division, including undertaking Data Quality Profiling, Data Quality Rule Definition and other Data Quality Analysis activities.
- Supporting assessment and uplift of Risk Division data risks and controls in accordance with Westpac’s Data Risk Taxonomy.
- Supporting documentation of Business Data Flows (BDFs) from source to usage.
- Supporting root cause analysis in Data Quality Problems and Issues including engagement with Technical SMEs.

**What do I need?**
- Graduate or post graduate qualification in computer science, information systems or technology related discipline, or equivalent.
- Experience in Data Management or related field such as Data Migration or Reporting & Analytics.
- Experience working under a Data Governance / Data Risk Management Framework (preferable).
- Knowledge of data management in a Banking or Financial Services industry context (preferable).
- Foundational written and verbal communication skills and experience.
- Foundational stakeholder engagement skills and experience.
- Foundational Data Analysis Skills including SQL and MS Excel.
- Understanding of Credit Risk, Market Risk or Operational Risk processes and systems (desirable).
- Foundational understanding of Data Warehousing and ETL (desirable).
- Foundational Excel/Macro (VBA) skills (desirable).
- Ability to read SAS code (desirable).
