What this job involves
We are looking for a smart, capable, and business savvy interior design professional to join our design services business in Australia.
This will be a hands-on role and would be ideal for someone looking to gain access to expand both their skill set and network. Fantastic communication skills are a must.
The successful applicant will embrace working in a start-up like design studio culture, but with the support and resources of a Fortune 500 company with a significant project pipeline over several disciplines.
We are looking for a client facing Designer who is ready to step up and make a name for themselves.
Working in a team from concept to completion
Preparing concept designs and finishes boards
Maintaining sample library
Research of products and material specifications
Work closely and support the Project Leader in presentations and delivery output
Prepare detailed design documentation in Revit
Work independently whilst keeping a team focus
Demonstrate an ability to develop excellent design and technical skills
Begin learning about sustainability and best practices for implementing within projects
Experience & capabilities
A degree in interior design or interior architecture
**Design Knowledge**: A beginning understanding of design principles, spatial planning, materials, and finishes.
**Technical Skills**: Confident in design software such as Revit, SketchUp and AutoCAD, as well as graphic design tools like Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
**Creativity and Innovation**: The ability to think creatively, generate unique design ideas, and bring innovation to projects.
**Communication Skills**: Effective verbal and written communication skills to understand client needs, convey design concepts, and collaborate with team members.
**Time Management**: The ability to prioritise tasks and work efficiently in a time-sensitive environment.
**Presentation Skills**: The ability to present design ideas and concepts in a clear, visually compelling manner to clients and team members.
**Research and Trend Awareness**: Continual research and awareness of design trends, materials, and industry innovations to stay current and offer fresh perspectives.
**Eagerness to Learn**: A proactive and curious attitude towards learning, seeking opportunities to expand knowledge and skills in the field of interior design.
