**Location**: Knox Civic Centre and Maroondah City Council as required
**About the role**
Knox City Council, in partnership with Maroondah City Council, is seeking a skilled and motivated person to support the delivery of the Municipal Emergency Resource Program (MERP).
This exciting part-time opportunity will play a vital role in supporting emergency management initiatives across the outer eastern councils of Knox and Maroondah, with a primary focus on supporting emergency preparedness and capability for both Councils.
The role will help Council develop capability and capacity to plan, prepare and deliver activities that support communities in an emergency, as well as support the delivery of Council’s responsibilities in planning, preparedness and prevention functions in emergency management.
This is a temporary part-time role (0.8 FTE) until 30 June 2027, primarily based at Knox City Council’s Civic Centre in Wantirna South, with occasional duties at Realm in Ringwood.
This is a Band 6 classified role, remuneration will be $98,353 - $107,416 (pro-rata and depending on experience) plus superannuation in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee.
**What you will need to thrive**
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to prepare Council reports and emergency management planning documents, training and exercising materials and grant submissions.
- The ability to work across multiple organisations developing relationships focused on regional collaboration and capacity building.
- Previous relevant work skills and experience with the ability to prepare and deliver training programs and presentations.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a calm and efficient manner and to develop innovative solutions to meet tight timeframes.
- Good working knowledge of Knox City Council and Maroondah City Council resources and operations and the City of Knox geography, infrastructure, services and community.
