**Where you’ll be working**:
The John Hunter Hospital (JHH) Physiotherapy Department delivers high-quality, innovative care across three key sites - John Hunter Hospital, Rankin Park Centre, and Belmont District Hospital.
You’ll join a dedicated team committed to patient-centred physiotherapy services across both inpatient and outpatient settings. The team environment is dynamic, collaborative, and supportive - ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced hospital setting and values professional development.
This is a permanent, full-time position (38 hours/week), based at John Hunter Hospital.
**About the role**:
As a Physiotherapy Assistant, you’ll work under the supervision of qualified Allied Health Professionals to support the delivery of safe and effective physiotherapy services. You will:
- Assist physiotherapists with assessments and the implementation of therapy plans
- Support activity-based programs such as hydrotherapy
- Provide clinical and administrative support across a variety of patient care settings
This role offers a unique opportunity to be involved in diverse patient presentations and programs within a major tertiary referral and teaching hospital.
**About you**:
We’re looking for a motivated and enthusiastic team player who:
- Has strong communication, time management and organisational skills
- Can work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrates effective written and verbal communication
- Has strong computer literacy and a commitment to patient engagement
**Desirable**:
Completion or progression towards Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance (or equivalent as deemed by the employer)
**Requirements**:
- Demonstrated ability to support Allied Health Professionals in delivering clinical and administrative care
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients, families and team members
- Capacity to work in a busy, multidisciplinary hospital setting
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- A commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care
