**Key responsibilities**: - Monitor and respond to new and emerging cultural heritage issues for the department providing strategic advice with whole of government focus and identifying opportunities to align solutions with other areas of TMR. Lead the building and maintenance of operational and strategic relationships with the Region's Traditional Owner Groups including managing effective consultation and negotiations these key stakeholders, including the development of Cultural Heritage Management Agreements. Program manage the provision of cultural heritage services to assist in the delivery of the Region's QTRIP program and Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements projects where required. Provide expert advice and recommend solutions on cultural heritage issues at all levels of the department and at the interagency level. manage cultural heritage performance matters including industry standard best practice where applicable. Analyse a wide variety of technical and performance related information using multiple tools and systems. Build and maintain effective relationships within TMR and with other agencies and organisations to ensure TMR effectively manages cultural heritage issues. Represent the department on cultural heritage matters at various internal and external forums, workshops and events. Please see attached role description for full list of responsibilities.Mandatory qualifications and conditions: - Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role. Degree qualification from a tertiary institute in archaeology, anthropology, social science, or an equivalent qualification. A current Class 'C' Drivers Licence.Requirements of the role: - Demonstrated experience in leading cultural heritage management initiatives for infrastructure projects. Ability to effectively manage consultants and supervise their work to ensure compliance with legislative provisions and project timeframes. Ability to navigate stakeholder dynamics and address concerns related to cultural heritage management effectively. Recognise the unique strengths, areas for development and aspirations of direct reports. Implements development plans with direct reports to address skill and knowledge gaps and enhance the capabilities they require for current and future roles. Assists others to identify and participate in flexible learning opportunities to stretch their skills, knowledge, and experience. Desirable: Demonstrated experience in leading a team of professional staff. Desirable: Extensive experience in a related role is considered as necessary for success in this role. Desirable: Significant experience in the cultural heritage aspects in the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of linear infrastructure.
