**The Role**

Would you like to be part of Australia’s effort to acquire new Electronic Warfare (EW) capabilities - highly significant Defence technology that will position Australia to respond to strategic challenges in the coming decades?

Are you interested in providing high level Executive, Administrative and Business Support to ensure critical capability and policy decisions are made in order to deal with emerging threats?

As part of the Joint EW Directorate you will assist in shaping the future direction of Defence’s EW capabilities. The position of Executive Officer Joint Electronic Warfare Directorate requires a high level of discretion and excellent organisation and time-management skills. The role is required to effectively manage the deliverables of the Directorate and build strong relationships with internal and external senior stakeholders. Additionally, provide secretariat functions for a range of committees and ensuring the effective running of the Directorate.

**About our Team**

Joint Information Capabilities Branch is an integrated team of military (ADF), civilians (APS) and contractors (industry) who contribute to developing the Joint Force. The Branch has five Directorates— Electronic Warfare, Navigation Warfare, Cyber and Influence, Project Management Office, and Defence Training Areas and Simulation.Joint EW is a high paced environment, with varied work across a spectrum of activities. Work can be demanding at times with ADF expectations, program milestones and committee representation scheduled for a range of EW outputs and projects. This team is responsible for communicating emerging Joint EW policies, plans and capabilities with a variety of internal and external stakeholders including international allies and partners, industry, across Defence and other Government Departments. This team conducts extensive stakeholder engagement, presenting complex initiatives and planning proposals, securing agreement and participates in implementation of a range of EW initiatives. In joining Joint EW you will support the team in solving highly complex problems and will be instrumental in developing future EW capabilities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build productive working relationships with internal and external clients, service providers and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience, knowledge and skills in managing and value adding to a small team, providing client centric services.
- Highly developed communication skills, particularly written communication, and the ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of stakeholders.
- Well-developed organisational skills, sound analytical and problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to proactively and consistently meet deadlines and ensure delivery against objectives.
