**Role Responsibilities**:

- Join NCA NewsWire’s Federal Political team in the Press Gallery in Parliament House in Canberra
- File fast breaking and compelling copy from inside the gallery
- Cover the big political stories of the day
- Attend press conferences with Federal MPs, Budget lockups and Question Time
- Build an impressive contact book that facilitates political content

**Skills and Experience**:

- A journalist with a passion for politics, finance and current affairs
- Ideally have experience as a political or finance reporter
- Fast, factual reporter who knows how to write an online story
- Have a strong network of contacts and are not afraid to ask the tough questions
- Adept to following audience analytics to understand what readers want
- Understand complex finance and political issues and present them in an engaging way
