**Transport Regulatory Operations** (TRO) is a Branch within the Department of Transport and Planning, and has the responsibility to manage the infringement and enforcement of ticketing, behavioural and parking offences committed on across the public transport network and Clearway parking offence.
We’re focused on outcomes that deliver more choice, connections and confidence in our travel, ensuring the whole transport network works as one to deliver better services and outcomes.
**About the Role**
**This is an Ongoing role**:
The role of the Infringement Operations Officer is to assess the quality and accuracy of evidence recorded on Reports of Non-Compliance and Dockets where it is required to be entered as records into the regulatory system. These Reports of Non-Compliance and Dockets are prepared by Authorised Officers across Victoria’s Public Transport network and by the Towing Operators which are submitted to the branch for review and issuance.
This position is a function of the branch’s Infringement Administration group and reports to the Team Leader, Infringements Operations.
**Position Outcomes / Accountabilities**
- Effective assessment and entering of incoming notifications of non-compliance originating from TRO areas of responsibility, including Victoria’s Public Transport Network and Clearway environments.
- Communicate with authorised officers, public transport and/or towing operators when reports of non-compliance are not completed accurately and/or contain insufficient evidence to determine if an offence has been committed.
- Undertake a range of administrative support activities and maintain business systems to support the Transport Regulatory Operations branch.
- Work responsively and collaboratively within the team, across the branch and with other key stakeholders to deliver the branch’s regulatory activities. Strive for regulatory excellence through integrity, empathetic engagement and competence and uphold the VPS Code of Conduct, values and behaviours.
- Ensure that all records relating to public transport infringements, original contracts, financial records and other documents are securely and accurately maintained and stored to ensure accessibility and the efficient retrieval of relevant information as required, particularly for subsequent internal reviews and prosecutions.
- Contribute to other branch initiatives, deliverables, projects and tasks as required.
- In line with Section 31A of the Public Administration Act 2004 (Vic) other duties may be assigned consistent with employment classification, skills, and capabilities
