**The Role**
The Air Combat Group (ACG) Business Intelligence Manager will be accountable under broad direction to perform and achieve complex to very complex business intelligence and reporting work within an integrated workforce. The position will require an in-depth knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence’s mission and policy requirements. Critical duties include:
- Accountable for ACG business intelligence by providing advice on related policy, undertaking complex to very complex problem solving, and issues management for stakeholders
- Provide strategic context to information relevant to the air combat enterprise and consider the ramifications of issues and longer term impact of own work and work area to meet business objectives
- Assess, evaluate and improve data quality, business intelligence strategy, initiatives, projects, policy and procedures
- Understand and utilise analytical tools, including Artificial Intelligence, machine learning and predictive analytics to prioritise and solve complex problems, and test models and simulations to achieve business outcomes
- Identify and maintain air combat enterprise test data, scenarios, hypotheses and testing plans
- Manage the risks associated with the use of air combat enterprise data, including balancing security and privacy, against the benefits of collecting and sharing data.
**About our Team**
The business intelligence and reporting team is well established within the HQACG environment. The applicant will report to the HQACG Director of Business and Information Systems for tasking and priorities, and will be responsive to Commander ACG and Deputy Commander ACG for their equities in the knowledge management and ICT space. An ability to work across the air combat enterprise and their associated business intelligence and reporting frameworks will be essential to provide timely advice to the relevant Wing Officers Commanding.
The applicant is required to maintain a working level understanding of Information Security Manual, Protective Security Policy Framework/Defence Security Principles Framework, Defence Data Strategy and Defence Data Policy, in order to provide timely, accurate business intelligence and reporting advice to Commander ACG, Deputy Commander ACG and Wing staff.
