
Investigations Support Officer

**THE ROLE**
The Investigations Support Officer will support the effective day-to-day management of operational tasks for the Child Safeguarding Regulation team by providing comprehensive administrative support like managing correspondence, maintaining files, handling correspondence and providing general support to staff, ultimately contributing to efficient workflow and effective communication within the team and the Regulator.
The role will primarily focus on providing support and assistance to the Worker and Carer Exclusion Scheme. The Worker and Carer Exclusion Scheme is designed to address risks posed by individual workers and carers assessed as being an unjustifiable risk to children and young people
This position involves the management and handling of challenging and confronting materials. The Investigations Support Officer will support the receipt and management of notifications of alleged conduct that caused serious harm, or had the potential to cause harm, to children and young people. This conduct includes sexual offences and misconduct, physical violence, behaviour that causes significant emotional or psychological harm, and significant neglect.
**ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE**
- Effectively manage office processes and maintain corporate information systems for records management, and correspondence as required.
- Complete a range of administrative functions, including the preparation and filing of written documents in compliance with Regulator records management policy and procedures.
- Answer queries, provide timely advice and take follow up action as required, including correctly redirecting incoming mail and queries.
- Operate as an effective team member in a regulatory environment and deliver quality, timely and effective service to team members and managers within the team.
- Support the business to undertake research and contribute to the development of a range of policies, system/service solutions and initiatives within resourcing, timeline and budget parameters.
- Support effective working relationships and the flow of information across the team, Regulator and with key external stakeholders.
- Operate with an increased level of autonomy and accountability in delivering the primary functions of the role.
- Proactively contribute to the continued development of policies and processes aimed at further improving the effective operation of the Child Safeguarding Regulation team.
- Actively engage in a positive and collaborative manner with key stakeholders.
- Keep accurate and complete records of your work activities in accordance with legislative requirements and record management, information security and privacy policies and requirements.
- Take reasonable care for your own health and safety and for that of others in the workplace by working in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's occupational health and safety (OHS) policies and procedures.
