
Clinical Team Leader

THE ROLE:
The Clinical Team Leader will be expected to work closely with other Behaviour Support Practitioners, Social workers, Support Coordinators, Allied health team, High Risk and Complex Needs clients and staff, to assess clients' behavioural needs, develop behavioral change programs. The lead will work in collaboration with staff and stakeholders to evaluate the effectiveness of behavioral plans and programs for the person and the overall service. The Team Lead will be responsible for taking charge in our PBS services, attracting clients, building the team/service and contribute to recruitment of clinical staff. You will be providing valuable oversight of specialist developmental assessments and intervention programs to address complex issues for people living with disabilities. You will also communicate, coach and foster relationships between the team, people we support, their families and Senami employees providing support to contribute to positive outcomes for our clients.

The Team Lead will be responsible for overseeing the use of restrictive intervention under the Disability Act with high-risk clients in the community. S-BSP is required to complete administrative tasks, as well as face to face work with clients and their support staff. SBSP is also involved in providing high-level clinical consultation and training to other areas of Senami.
**MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB**
Provide high quality, culturally appropriate behaviour support services to people with a disability who have a specific support need.
Complete functional behaviour assessments and develop Positive Behaviour Support Plans in consultation with clients, advocates/family and relevant stakeholders.
Provide sound leadership to practitioners within the Senami Team Clinical program and Residential Care when needed.
Ensure PBS practice principles are applied with an eye to detail for report submissions to the Commission.
Provide regular supervision to a team of Behaviour Support Practitioners and clinical team.
Conduct technical clinical assessment in collaboration with clinical team
Provide training and capacity building to clinical staff when needed
Identify training programs in line with clinical team knowledge development
Identify and develop key strategic relationship networks to achieve goals, and improve outcomes for clients and service delivery methods.
Deliver client centred, strengths based Case Management.
Assessing restrictive practices and develop strategies to reduce or eliminate the need to use them.
Lead evidence informed practice and complete research projects to improve practice across the services.
- To conduct and review behavioural assessments, including functional analyses, and provide interpretations of the results before approval and submission through the NDIS Commission Portal.
- To formulate and implement behavioural interventions. To effectively develop and implement appropriate assessment and intervention methods.
- To exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment and intervention with clients working alongside other professionals in the multidisciplinary team.
- To maintain good working relationships with other members of the multidisciplinary team and ensure effective communication through good verbal communication skills and the production of professional reports.
- To attend multi-disciplinary meetings in support of clinical staff when needed.
- To be involved, as appropriate, in the assessment of clients being considered for intake to Senami services.
- To review training and support behavioural training, guidance and consultation provided to families, support staff and other professionals by Senami clinical team.
- To manage staff exposure to highly complex information and sensitive situations involving distressing, traumatic and emotional material, including exposure to challenging behaviours.
- To communicate to staff in a skilled and sensitive manner, information concerning the assessment, formulation and intervention plans of people under their care and to monitor progress during the course of both uni and multi-disciplinary care.
- To continue to develop skills and knowledge through further training.
- To maintain links with clinicians working in similar roles locally and to promote and represent the organisation in relevant forums.
- To contribute to the development, evaluation and monitoring of operational policies and services, through the deployment of professional skills in research, service evaluation and audit.
