**The organisation**:

**Position purpose**:
The purpose of this role is to enhance payroll system architecture and reporting capabilities across the organisation, ensuring stakeholders experience a reliable, user-friendly system with insightful and accessible reporting.
**Key responsibilities**:
- Design and maintain payroll system architecture to support operational efficiency and compliance.- Develop and optimise reporting frameworks to meet the needs of managers and decision makers.- Collaborate with other teams within Synod Services to ensure system integration, data accuracy and system alignment with organisational goals.- Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement within payroll operations.- Maintain documentation of system configurations, reporting templates, and workflows.- Ensure data integrity and confidentiality in all payroll-related reporting and system activities.- Design, create and implement enhancements to the rostering and payroll systems, in consultation with the Payroll Manager and Payroll Systems Administrator.- Provide payroll best practice support and troubleshooting for payroll processes across the systems utilised for the payroll function (UKG Ready, Payroll Metrics, and integrated work in a 365 environment..- Mentor and support payroll team members in understanding system enhancements and reporting tools.- Facilitate knowledge sharing and capability uplift across the payroll function.- Assist with payroll processing during periods of staff absence to ensure continuity of service.- Undertake other duties as directed within the scope of the role.- Model the values of the Uniting Church in Australia, Queensland Synod in day to day work including interactions with managers, lay staff, ministry agents, clients and stakeholders.- Compliance with Queensland Synod policies, procedures and relevant legislation.- Comply with Health and Safety directions and Public Health directions.- Undertake other duties as and when directed within the scope of the role and the capabilities of the incumbent.
**Key performance indicators**:
- Payroll projects are delivered as intended, within anticipated timeframes.- Successful implementation of system enhancements.- Comply with delegations of the Office of the Synod where delegations have been permanently or temporarily assigned to the position.- Maintain alignment with the Office of the Synod purpose, culture and values (values referenced under additional requirements).
**Reporting relationship and delegations**:
- This position reports to the Payroll Manager.
**Selection criteria**:
Experience and skills:
- Demonstrated experience with payroll and rostering systems._- Experience with Kronos highly regarded._- Strong analytical and reporting skills._- Proficiency_ in Microsoft Excel and other reporting tools._- Ability to work collaboratively across departments._- High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy._
**Additional** requirements**:
- Suitability Card for Child Related Employment (Blue Card) - All adults who work with people under 18 years in QLD in regulated employment _are _required_ to_ undergo a “Working with Children Check” under the screening provisions of the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act. _Presentation of a current Suitability Card must be made before appointment to the position can be confirmed._- The successful applicant must be eligible to legally work in Australia and proof of eligibility may be requested.- Behave in accordance with the values of the Synod Office.
