
Network Development Manager, Enterprise Networking

BA/BS in an engineering or relevant experience
- 4+ years managing large-scale networking teams at an enterprise scale
- 4+ years of experience working with networking protocols including TCP/IP, BGP, MPLS, ISIS, etc.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and identify root cause of issues
- Broad understanding of Incident, Problem, and Change Management practices
- The ability to think at scale and automate processes/tasks
- Experience with supporting customers during problem resolution and operating under pressure.

The AWS Enterprise Networking org at Amazon is looking for a manager with our Enterprise Systems and Automation team. In partnership with your engineering counterparts you will work to make our Enterprise Network more capable, scalable, reliable and efficient.
Key job responsibilities
- Lead a team of globally distributed network engineers supporting Amazon’s enterprise network infrastructure.
- Drive continual improvement in systems operations through tool building and iterative improvement.
- Partner with Engineering, Build/Scale teams to ensure high availability and uptime of the Enterprise Network.
- Define and drive projects that improve efficiency in day-to-day tasks (or automate them away completely), identifying key metrics that reflect the success of those projects, and reporting on their progress.
- Manage a highly technical team, and develop a deep knowledge of your area in order to propose new designs for wider review.
- Effectively define, analyze, and evolve key performance metrics to measure engineer and team performance and drive service improvements.
- Collaborate with customers and partners to bring new services into production
- Operate in a rapidly evolving environment, adapt quickly to new information, and re-prioritize as needed.
- Oversee network incidents ensuring customer impact is minimized.
- Some travel to meet with remote staff and customers
- Pro-actively identify resource needs, participate in recruiting efforts, and hiring to grow the team.
- Exhibit ownership of escalations ensuring consistent communication occurs and issues are driven to resolution and validated.
- Responsible for people management of a team of engineers, providing performance reviews, continual feedback, coaching and career growth.
- Identify, cultivate and grow technical leaders
About the team
Sydney, NSW, AUS
- Experience automating device configuration and management preferred
- Experience working with carriers to provision, install, and operate both voice and data networks
- Experience overseeing new office builds, moves, and decommissions
