**About the role**:
Merri-bek City Council is looking for a talented employee communications star to join the Communications team.
In this role, you will develop internal communications plans and content to promote a wide range of information to Council staff. You will be writing for internal newsletters, sourcing stories from across the organisation to showcase the great work that our staff carry out for the community, as well as content for the staff intranet and other internal communications channels. You will also manage the annual report.
We are looking for a team player who can translate complex information into engaging, easy-to-understand content for a range of contemporary and engaging internal communication channels and content. This is a fast-paced role with a different focus every day, working in a fun and supportive team of communications professionals.
**Skills and experience require to perform the role**:
- Tertiary qualification in communications, journalism or a related discipline and/or a lesser qualification with relevant experience in the field of communications.
- Experience in a communications role in a large organisation.
- Extensive experience writing, editing and proofing complex documents.
- Highly developed written and verbal communications skills.
- Ability to set, manage and deliver on tight production timelines.
- A demonstrated ability to build relationships and gain trust.
