One of Australia’s leading consumer Fintech organisations is seeking a passionate Public Relations Manager to join their dynamic team.

Reporting directly to the Director of Research, Content and Public Relations this is a critical role responsible for taking ownership of the day-to-day PR functions including developing new story ideas, managing existing and building new relationships with key journalists, writing press releases and briefing in-house analysts to help develop real life scenarios.

As part of the broader communications team, you will also help develop content for the website, media outlets, other third-party sites and social media channels, including related weblinks. A large part of this role will be looking at market trends and in-house data with a view to translating the information into easy-to-consume media stories.

**Key responsibilities will include**:

- Action incoming media enquiries
- Initiating new media relationships and building presence in the media
- Develop story ideas for mainstream and industry media
- Pitch stories and spokespeople to journalists, editors and third-party sites
- Organise briefing notes and the logistics for media interviews
- Develop media material including media releases, news stories, graphics and industry reports
- Develop new and maintaining existing relationships with journalists.
- Monitor personal finance media channels
- Monitor and report on media
- Develop content for social media. Work with the Content Manager to help identify new social media opportunities
- Assist with proofing, editing and other content related needs
- Help build brand awareness through media stories
- Assist with the production of reports, external newsletters and internal communications

**To be successful, you will have**
- Tertiary qualifications in PR, communications or journalism
- A minimum of 4 years’ experience in public relations, as a journalist or experience working in the media or another relevant sector
- Proven track record in media relations
- A portfolio of your work that demonstrates your writing style and capabilities and successful campaigns
- Experience providing direction to others and managing external contractors
- A consumer-centric focus and creative mind with excellent stakeholder relations skills with a ‘can-do’ approach to media and strong attention to detail
- Able to work under tight timeframes and turn around urgent media requirements quickly
- Strong writing skills and a proven track record in media relations is essential
- A “can do” attitude to manage incoming media enquiries in tight timeframes, along with a pro-active personality that thrives on pitching story ideas to journalists
- Experience in the finance or personal finance sectors will be highly regarded
