Instantiapay, Global Head of Operations

Ensure that when our clients pay us to settle trades, we confirm the receipt of their funds as quickly and as efficiently as possible (Money-In).
- Ensure that once our clients have settled their trade, that their disbursements or payments are processed as quickly and efficiently as possible (Money-Out).
- Continue to build and improve on our relationships, with the representatives from our banking counterparties.
- Work both accurately and quickly under pressure.
- Work closely with the other teams, including but not limited to Compliance, Credit, Treasury, Middle Office, and Product, to ensure client needs are met quickly and efficiently.
- Oversee management of the operations team, including but not limited to recruitment, development, training, and performance reviews.
- Contribute to the management and overall strategic direction of the global operations team, ensuring adequate controls are in place to protect xxxxxx from fraud or bad actors.
- Maintain up to date knowledge and controls on industry wide developments in banking, and operations.
- Be responsible for creating and maintaining company policy and processes to reflect internal procedures and external regulations.
- Provide daily oversight of all inbound and outbound payments, overseeing complex queries and investigations to resolve any client settlement or account errors.
- Maintain a culture of risk awareness and managing those risks.
- Tackle deficiencies in systems or processes.
- Plan for and implement new technologies and automation, as the future needs of the company require.
- Demonstrate experience and strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and empower a successful team.
- Possess extensive knowledge of international payment systems, such as the SWIFT network.
- Possess extensive knowledge of local and international banking systems, including payment methods such as Direct Debit, Direct Credit, RTGS and OSKO.
- You will have experience in working for a non-bank foreign exchange payments company, a bank, or a financial services provider that deals with high volumes of payments.
- Demonstrate a natural flair for understanding, using, and improving technology and systems.
- Demonstrate a high attention to detail, and be someone who can respond quickly and effectively if something goes wrong.
- Possess unquestionable integrity.
- Have experience with client database systems, such as CRM or Salesforce, or both.
- Possess strong oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrate a collaborative, proactive approach, and strive to do the best for our clients at all times.
- Possess a customer centric and ‘can-do’ attitude.
- Duties outside Normal Responsibilities
- It is expected that all members of InstantiaPay initially help where provided regardless of the department, role or experience
- This role may have a place on the credit committee and responsibilities to the credit team
- This role may be required to help with account onboarding where required
- This role may be required to help with trading and treasury where required
- This role me be required to help with HR where required
- This role may be required to help with all aspects of the business as we build and grow

- University degree in law, finance and/or economics;
- English fluent (both written and spoken),
- Deep understanding of global payments
- Excellent detailed-oriented skill set;
- Knowledge of financial institutions, correspondent banking and trade finance products and services;
- Positive attitude towards colleagues and the organisation to ensure seamless communication;
- Familiarity with various corporate structures e.g. Funds, Trusts, SPVs, etc is an advantage;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities;
- Ability to synthetize large volume of information and identify key issues;
- Ability to produce high quality work to meet challenging deadlines;
- Excellent organisational skills;
- Ability to work under pressure;
- Good command of Microsoft Office.
- Required experience
- Minimum ten years of Operations experience either in banks and/or financial institutions.
- Strong knowledge and experience in managing local regulatory requirements;
- Extensive experience in managing a team and delivering on SLA’s set.
- Experience with or knowledge of businesses operated by a Global investment bank.
