Lead the operations of Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), compliance monitoring and systems.
- Key partner between the Finance function and stakeholders across the organisation and externally.

**Key responsibilities**
- Responsible for key areas across AR including but not limited to:

- Levy and other revenue billing management and collections
- Reviewing account reconciliations
- Reviewing AR files and records
- Investigating and resolving any irregularities or enquiries
- Annual testing of the billing engine and issues that may arise
- Responsible for key areas across AP including but not limited to:

- Reviewing fortnightly payment runs and ensuring AP transactions are processed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Reviewing monthly reconciliation of payables sub-ledgers.
- Provide analysis and support to vendors and staff
- Investigating and resolving any irregularities or enquiries.
- Compliance reviews across AP and management of relevant controls and processes.
- Working closely with the ANAO in relation to the annual external audit.
- Supporting management for ad-hoc financial management, requests and analysis.
- Continually strive for operational improvements and developing financial processes and systems that are streamlined, efficient and value adding.
- Be across updates and the impacts in relevant legislation and frameworks.
- Fiscal management of APRA’s activities and the safeguarding of assets in accordance with legislation, policy, and management requirements.
- Promote teamwork and collaboration, demonstrate the principles of workplace diversity and assist staff in performance and development.
- Encourage staff to be fully engaged with other functions and divisions to balance both services and control requirements.

**The Team**

The role is a key contact within the finance operations, reporting and control team (FORC). The FORC team sits within the Finance team and is part of the Enterprise Services Division (ESD). The team is responsible for partnering with all divisions across APRA, ensuring quality outcomes around finance operations, reporting and control.

Key internal stakeholders include senior leaders across APRA, Finance, IT, Frontline and Internal Audit teams. Key external stakeholders include entities incurring levies and/or other billings, vendor system support providers and the Australian National Audit Office (ANAO).

**About you**
- Knowledge and understanding of APRA’s mission and corporate objectives, functions, processes and systems.
- Extensive knowledge of Financial Management Information Systems and implementation of new systems.
- Strong understanding of financial controls and fiscal governance.
- Well developed management, negotiation, conflict resolution and interpersonal skills.
- Advanced Excel and strong numeracy skills.
- Ability to prioritise and strong time management skills.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
- Ability to problem solve and excel in situations of ambiguity.

**Desirable but not essential knowledge / experience**
- Knowledge of Oracle, TM1, Zeno highly regarded
- Experience in reviewing and interpreting compliance / legislative instruments.
- Tertiary and postgraduate qualifications in accounting and CPA/ACA or equivalent certification.
