**Position Overview**

The **Animal Care Work Placement Coordinator and Teaching Aid** supports the academic and practical components of Greenwood Academy’s Animal Care programs. This role is responsible for coordinating student work placements with industry partners and assisting trainers in the delivery of hands-on practical sessions.

The position is ideal for someone who is organised, passionate about animal welfare, and enjoys supporting both students and teachers in a dynamic learning environment.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Work Placement Coordination**:

- Source, develop, and maintain relationships with animal care industry partners, including veterinary clinics, shelters, grooming salons, and pet boarding facilities.
- Coordinate student work placement schedules in accordance with course requirements and ASQA/CRICOS standards.
- Match students to suitable host organisations based on their skills, interests, and learning outcomes.
- Conduct site visits and ensure all placement providers comply with safety and training requirements.
- Monitor student progress and provide support during placement, including addressing feedback and resolving any issues that arise.
- Maintain accurate records of placements, agreements, and student progress reports.

**Teaching and Practical Support**:

- Assist trainers in preparing, setting up, and supervising classes and demonstrations.
- Support students during hands-on activities, ensuring safety, engagement, and proper animal handling practices.
- Help maintain facilities, equipment, and materials in accordance with welfare and hygiene standards.
- Prepare and manage teaching resources and student materials for classroom and practical use.
- Provide administrative and logístical support to trainers, including attendance tracking, student file management, and assessment preparation.

**General Duties**:

- Promote Greenwood Academy’s values of compassion, professionalism, and continuous learning.
- Ensure compliance with RTO and CRICOS standards in all activities.
- Support the Academic Manager and trainers in other duties as required.

**Qualifications and Skills**

**Essential**:

- Certificate III or IV in Animal Care, Veterinary Nursing, or equivalent qualification.
- Certificate IV in Training and assessment
- Strong understanding of Grooming, Veterinary clinical practices, animal welfare, handling, and husbandry practices.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, trainers, and industry partners.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic administrative systems.
- A current driver’s licence and willingness to travel locally for site visits.

**Desirable**:

- Experience in a similar role within an RTO or vocational training environment.
- Background in animal grooming, shelter work, or veterinary nursing.
- Familiarity with student management systems (RTOM).
- Knowledge of ASQA and CRICOS compliance requirements.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
