**About the Opportunity**
Council is seeking a leader with strong stakeholder management and engagement skills.
Our Office of the General Manager Business Unit manages Council and Committee meetings. They are responsible for organising briefings and workshops offered to our Councillors, and ensuring our compulsory reporting requirements are met.
You will provide a high level of corporate support to the Council, primarily managing the efficient and effective delivery of the Council meeting schedule and associated processes. You will coordinate communications with Councillors, and our integrated planning and reporting framework, and corporate planning and performance reporting.

- Salary from $168,594.58 - $195,151.42 per annum plus 10.5% superannuation
- Vehicle allowance of $10,285 per annum
- Additional Managers Leave entitlement of 5 days annual leave per annum

**What we are looking for**:
Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications
- An appropriate degree qualification in Business Management or related discipline or extensive equivalent experience in administration and management.
- Extensive knowledge of local government functions, statutory obligations, policies and processes within the legislative framework of the Local Government Act 1993 and related legislation.
- Project management skills, including being able to direct, monitor and review multiple projects to deliver on time.
- Strong stakeholder management and engagement skills.
- Demonstrated capacity to work within politically sensitive environments and deliver outcomes.
- High-level customer service focus, including demonstrated significant achievement in the provision of quality customer services.
- Extensive experience in Local Government with a sound knowledge of Council meeting procedures and Councillor protocols.
- Experience in dealing with demanding clients and high pressure situations.
- Demonstrated understanding of political processes, coupled with substantial experience working within a political and executive support environment.
- Solid working knowledge of the operations of all levels of government and demonstrated experience in engaging with relevant stakeholders across all levels to achieve outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to use sound judgement and negotiations skills in negotiating with various stakeholders to develop solutions to complex and/or politically sensitive issues.
- A proven ability to act within the terms of the relevant privacy legislation and to act with tact and discretion.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain an extensive network of contacts across a range of stakeholder groups including residents, media, government, business and community groups.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with executive and senior management to deliver agreed outcomes.
- Experience in the effective management of projects to achieve set goals and objectives in accordance with agreed scope and within identified time and budgetary limits, and proven ability to motivate and develop staff.
- Highly developed written and oral communication skills with demonstrated experience in preparing reports, policies, speeches and other media/public audience documents.
Other Desirable Attributes
- Knowledge of, or ability to acquire knowledge of, relevant legislative, ceremonial, social and protocol procedures relevant to the role and official functions of Local Government in NSW.
- Previous exposure to or understanding of issues currently facing Georges River Council in the short and medium term.
- Proven policy formulation and strategic planning skills.
- A current Class C drivers licence or ability to acquire one.
- Be fully vaccinated (minimum 2 doses) with an approved COVID-19 vaccine and provide Council with evidence of vaccination, or an accepted certified medical contraindication. Council reserves the right to confirm the validity of contraindications in accordance with NSW Health guidelines, and to direct a Worker to undertake an independent medical examination in relation to the issuance of a medical contraindication certificate.
