**Disability Support Worker - ACT & NSW Join Nurture with Compassion (NWC)**

**About the Role**
As a **Disability Support Worker**, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with disabilities to live fulfilling and independent lives. You will assist clients with daily living activities, community participation, personal care, and skill development while promoting a safe and respectful environment.
**Key Responsibilities**
Provide high-quality personal care, including hygiene assistance, dressing, and mobility support.
Support clients with daily activities such as meal preparation, household tasks, and medication reminders.
Facilitate community participation, social outings, and recreational activities.
Promote independence and empower clients to achieve their personal goals.
Follow individualised support plans and ensure clients’ needs are met with dignity and respect.
Assist with transport and accompany clients to appointments, activities, and social engagements.
Maintain accurate documentation and report any changes in clients' conditions or needs.
Work collaboratively with families, healthcare professionals, and support networks.
**Essential Qualifications & Requirements**
✔ **Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Disability), Aged Care, Community Services, or equivalent**.
✔ **NDIS Worker Screening Check** and **Working with Children Check (WWCC)** for ACT and NSW.
✔ **First Aid & CPR Certification** (current and valid).
✔ **National Police Check** (recent within 12 months).
✔ **COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate**, including boosters (as per government requirements).
✔ **Valid Driver’s Licence & Reliable Vehicle** (comprehensive insurance preferred).
✔ Strong understanding of **NDIS Code of Conduct** and **Person-Centered Support**.
**Desirable Skills & Experience**
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities, mental health conditions, or high-complex needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a caring and empathetic approach.
- Ability to work independently, adapt to different environments, and handle challenging situations professionally.
- Basic knowledge of manual handling techniques and assistive equipment.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends, nights, and public holidays.
