12 month Max Term opportunity with the possibility turning permanent
- Sydney based, hybrid working 2 - 3 days in office
- We're looking for someone with extensive experience in Program Management, Strategy, and Transformation who can bring fresh, innovative approaches to complex situations
**How will I help?**
As a Program Manager reporting to the Risk COO Delivery Portfolio Director, you’ll take charge of executing and delivering the Risk Division’s Data Strategy over several years. You’ll also support the implementation of both business and technology solutions for the Risk Division. You’ll have the ability to produce high-quality results in most situations and will inspire others with your vision of what's possible.
You’ll be responsible for reviewing and preparing status reports, ensuring they’re tailored for executive and board-level discussions. Leading a team, you’ll analyse data across large, multi-stream projects to assess the effectiveness of solutions and their value to the business. Your leadership will also extend to managing resources, optimising allocation to minimise downtime, and coaching others along the way.
Risk management is a key part of your role. You’ll proactively mitigate delivery and operational risks, establishing controls where risk resolution isn’t feasible. Ensuring that all governance processes are followed will be crucial, allowing stakeholders to clearly understand their roles and decision-making responsibilities.
Financial management will also be a focus, as you’ll estimate costs and benefits, accurately forecast project expenses, and ensure budgets are managed within policy. You’ll work to optimize impacts on the P&L and future spend, providing actionable insights throughout. Additionally, you’ll establish and manage supplier relationships, ensuring performance metrics and satisfaction ratings are met.
Building relationships with diverse stakeholders will be essential as you partner with senior leaders across business divisions to deliver on strategic objectives. As a trusted advisor, you’ll support high-level conversations and ensure teams remain engaged and committed throughout projects. Your coaching, influencing, and negotiation skills will shine in complex commercial and contractual situations, helping your team achieve their goals.
**What’s in it for me?**
You’ll play a significant part of the future of a business that has been around for over 200 years. Our purpose is to create better futures together. So, we’ll back you in the development of your career, internal career prospects, and flexible working. You’ll also keep learning to grow your career, backed by a fantastic team of people with a can-do, supportive structure. Whatever shape your family takes, we offer generous paid and unpaid parental leave for your nominated primary and support carers. This includes leave to organise adoptions, surrogacy, and foster care arrangements. And we continue to pay your super contributions while you take all the time you need to get your new family settled.
**What do I need?**
To be successful in this role, you’ll need a minimum of 5 years of Program Management experience, with 15+ years in the industry. You’ll have delivered complex initiatives in large financial institutions, with board-reportable investments exceeding $10M, senior sponsorship, and teams of over 20 people. You’ll be comfortable managing multiple interdependencies, high risk, and high-impact projects, and navigating ambiguity and volatility. Effective stakeholder management and communication skills are essential.
It would be preferable if you have experience in Banking, Risk Management, and Data Governance, with a strong understanding of data analytics in areas such as Credit Risk, Financial Crime, and Non-Financial Risk.
