**Who are we looking for?**

Queensland University of Technology (QUT) is seeking a Student Success Educator to join Learning and Teaching Unit, Education Portfolio, Academic Division.

The Student Success Educator will partner with key stakeholders in QUT Faculties and Divisions to deliver student success activities that address all aspects of transition and student success, with a focus on retention, parity of access and impact on student outcomes. The position sits within an interdisciplinary team of educators, coaches, guides, and collaborators-in-learning. ‘Collaborations in Learning’ may include QUT Peer Programs, the QUT Learning Hubs, and Students as Partners projects and initiatives. The Student Success Educator will provide timely, targeted and inclusive front-line services and strategies to support students to ‘Get on Track’, ‘Stay on Track’ and ‘Get back on Track’ with a particular focus on equity and academically ‘at risk’ students.

The Student Success Group (SSG) works in partnership with faculties, HiQ, Equity and Student Counselling, and other learning and personal support providers across the University (International Student Services, Student Engagement, Widening Participation, Student Business Services). The SSG aims to provide access to the highest quality of support for learning and careers and engagement services and strategies to empower students with the tools, connections, and mindsets to achieve their full academic potential and to design their real world futures.

You will demonstrate:
**Selection Criteria**
- Education, training and/or experience equivalent to a degree in a field related to student engagement, transition and success, and coaching practice with at least four years subsequent relevant experience.
- Proven experience in promoting and supporting others to develop the strategies and techniques needed to engage effectively in higher education as an independent and successful learner in physical (face-to-face) and virtual environments.
- Demonstrated understanding of the issues which affect adult learners, retention and success in higher education, as well as a commitment to working from a social justice framework.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in close partnership with a diverse range of students and staff at all levels of an organisation and from culturally diverse backgrounds.
- Proven effectiveness as a team member with the ability to be flexible and agile in relation to institutional changes, and responding to the shifting needs of the student population.
