About the role

In this dynamic position, you will be responsible for carrying out a range of general maintenance, light construction and warehousing activities under the direction of the Facility Manager and other stakeholders.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Maintaining building stock and managing building services
- Warehousing services, where required
- Providing routine minor repairs to building facilities, plant, tools and equipment, reporting repair requirements where contractor attention is required
- Undertaking light construction and handyman duties in accordance with incumbent’s knowledge and skill
- Liaising with and overseeing contractors to ensure servicing and repair work is carried out to an acceptable standard
- Adhering to preventive maintenance schedules
- Carrying out maintenance requirements as requested
- Maintaining and effectively fulfilling record keeping and administrative procedures, including the regular use of the organisation’s asset management software
- Undertaking training for the development of skills in general maintenance
- Providing specialist knowledge and assistance, when required
- Performing other duties as directed or required.

**About you**:

- Hands-on experience in property maintenance and general handyman services
- Experience working in a warehouse environment
- Driver licence
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Proactive, practical and safety-conscious.
- Basic computer knowledge

**Key performance indicators**:

- Completion of maintenance tasks within allocated timeframes
- Completion and maintenance of records to meet organisational and statutory requirements
- Maintenance of professional relationships with colleagues and with DHM customers in accordance with DHM codes of conduct
- Ensuring repairs to building facilities, plant, tools and equipment are completed within established timeframes
