**About The Role**
By joining our Dairy NSW team in the role of Regional Extension Officer you will be responsible for providing effective leadership and support to the Dairy industry in the Hunter Region and Central West. You will deliver innovative, well planned and collaborative extension and education activities in dairy regions. Here are some examples of where you will make an impact:
**Project management**:
- Ensure projects are planned, meet milestones and deliver on expectations
- Planning, coordination, reporting and delivery of relevant projects;
- Ensure establishment of appropriate governance and oversight of decisions for projects where required
**Account Management**:
- Take an account management approach to relationships with farmers, service providers, extension partners, regional authorities, and training providers. This is to create value for levy payers by identifying and matching needs to DA resources, programs and research priorities,
- Maintain excellent records in Salesforce, ensuring account meeting records and events captured properly.
- Engage and collaborate with providers and partners to achieve positive outcomes for dairy farmers, leveraging partnership opportunities and avoiding duplication;
**Regional Delivery**:
- Plan and coordinate the delivery of programs, projects and events as required, as well as contribute to the development of an agreed regional plan for program delivery;
- Develop a detailed knowledge of extension activities for regional delivery currently available through Dairy Australia, other RDPs and other relevant organisations and agencies;
- Implement and manage processes and systems to support the planning, coordination of extension and education activities.
**Product and Service Development**:
- Present a regional perspective (including the “voice of the farmer”) to contribute to the development and implementation of Dairy Australia’s initiatives and projects;
- Develop and maintain a good understanding of existing and emerging issues within the region through information networks at a regional, state and national level.
- Support the development of extension plans and activities to meet regional needs;
To be successful in this role you will display:
- Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills, adaptable to the audience.
- The ability to initiate and establish partnerships and networks, maintaining effective relationships and influencing key partners and stakeholders, and identify needs.
- Demonstrated experience in working with individuals and groups (preferably farmers), including the delivery of information and programs.
- Outcome driven focus, with the ability to coordinate multiple activities.
- Ability to plan, and deliver projects including reporting as required.
- High level capacity for self-management and initiative.
