We have an exciting term position for a Project Facilitator, specialising in ocean science, to join our dynamic ‘High Resolution Climate, Ocean and Extremes’ research group within the CSIRO Ocean & Atmosphere (O&A) business unit

This multi-faceted, hands-on role will have two major components - acting as a “knowledge broker” across O&A programs to efficiently communicate & translate ocean science services; and project facilitator both at management & technical levels. More specifically, your responsibilities will include technical writing, and interpretation of oceanographic products and services for Australian Defence, and contributing to project coordination as part of a team of 3 project facilitators. These projects sit within CSIRO’s Oceans and Atmosphere (O&A) Business Unit and are part of the Bluelink Partnership between CSIRO, the Australian Bureau of Meteorology, and the Department of Defence. You will support a portfolio of projects, throughout their project lifecycles, and collaborate with long-standing partners to ensure smooth and successful delivery of these projects, including assessment of ocean prediction products, reporting, training, and governance activities.

**Your duties will include**:

- Developing user guides, case studies, tutorials and associated documentation for CSIRO’s Relocatable Ocean and Atmosphere (ROAM) suite, as well as other aspects of CSIRO’s Bluelink Partnership Science Delivery.
- Developing and maintaining effective relationships with project leaders and their project teams within CSIRO and with colleagues at collaborating institutions, particularly the Australian Bureau of Meteorology and various Australian Defence organisations.
- Playing a key role in communicating research or technological results in internal and external forums and, where applicable, contributing to and/or generating scientific papers.
- Participating in project scoping and planning, contributing to the research or technological direction, and providing advice on the level and type of services provided.
- Contributing to the facilitation and management of activities across the Bluelink portfolio of projects to ensure effective utilisation of resources leading to successful impact delivery.
- At the higher capability level, you would be responsible for carrying out these duties with more autonomy, and you may be required to lead teams and/or proactively collaborate with staff from other teams to meet objectives.

**To be considered you will need**:

- Experience in science-related project delivery practice and multi-agency project coordination, governance, document control and security, client liaison, and group facilitation.
- Strong oral communication skills in both formal settings (e.g., seminars and training courses) and informal settings (e.g., client/stakeholder/collaborator liaison meetings).
- Demonstrated experience in developing communication and training materials related to weather/ocean prediction or a related field.
- Expertise producing other written communication materials for a variety of audiences in the form of website content, user guides, case studies and tutorials.
- To be considered at the higher capability level, you should demonstrate higher level of skills and experience in the above-mentioned essential criteria, as well as the required competencies.
